Shipping And Handling

Shipping charges are not included in the prices displayed with the books.

(Click on the "delivery info" tab to get information on prices for individual items)

All delivery charges quoted on this site are based on Royal Mail prices and include postage and packing.
Delivery costs are calculated when the order is placed, based on the total weight of the order including all packaging.
It may be necessary to split some deliveries into multiple packages. We will inform you if that is the case.

For further information see Delivery Schedule below.

Delivery Schedule

We aim to despatch your books within two working days of receipt of your order.

Please allow up to 7 days for delivery, although delivery times will generally be shorter.

Times are approximate, and not guaranteed. Guaranteed, timed services are available if required.

All delivery charges quoted on this site are based on Royal Mail prices and include postage and packing.
For large orders, cheaper alternative options may exist. We are unable to quote these prices directly as many of them involve volumetric shipping and it is not possible to estimate the size and weight of parcels, especially where multiple books are ordered.
If you would like us to check for alternative methods of despatch, please ask before placing the order.

Excess Weight Orders:
If your order was rejected because it exceeded the allowed weight, please contact us for a revised shipping cost.

Please contact us for further information.

Back Orders

If for any reason, your chosen book is not in stock, we will let you know.
As most items offered are "one-offs" we can't hold back-orders as such, but we will gladly add items to our wants list.

Tax Charges

There is, at present, no UK tax on books, or secondhand items, so all items are zero rated.

Credit Card Security

Online credit and debit card payments (payment option 1) are securely processed by WorldPay.
No card details are passed to Flyingbooks.

If you choose to send credt card details separately, (payment option 2) your card details will be processed through a standalone desktop terminal, after which your card details are shredded. We do not retain your card details in any form.

Never send payment via e-mail. It is not a secure method of payment and we strongly advise against it.

We take your payment card security seriously and have complied with all the data security regulations laid down by the card issuing companies, such as Visa and Mastercard.

Flyingbooks is fully compliant with Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards, (PCI DSS).

Please ask if you would like more information on our policies and procedures regarding secure e-commerce and our commitment to it.

Guarantee

All books are secondhand, unless otherwise stated.
Long descriptions are sometimes taken from the book's dust jacket notes, and references to "the present day", "the most complete work ever published" etc. refer to the date of publication, and not the actual date of listing on this site.
Images used are scans, or photographs, of the actual book as listed, (we do not use generic images.) While images are not to scale, they are in proportion height to width, so if a book appears landscape format, then it is in landscape format!
Images are watermarked with the web address: don't worry, the actual copy will not be marked!
Sizes, where shown, are expressed in centimetres, width by height and are approximate.
Terminology used in the descriptions are standard book trade terms. Description of a book's condition may not include minor blemishes such as prices clipped from dust wrappers, small inscriptions etc.
Please see returns policy for further information.
